A Look At Some Of The Future Stars Of Jump Racing
Over the last couple of decades, we have been treated to some true horse racing greats, who have etched their name in the history of the sport; certainly there will be a couple that stand out.
Of these, perhaps Sir AP McCoy being chief among them, who often went toe-to-toe with Ruby Walsh on many occasions. You could probably just about throw Barry Geraghty into that grouping as well.
Many horse racing fans usually have their favourites and often when looking at a field in a race, the jockey can be the deciding factor, over the horse, form or trainer – the latter probably being a close second.
However, as one era comes to a close, another one starts with many young jockeys usually waiting in the wings – owners and trainers are always keeping an eye on the next talent pool and as such, tend to groom them early to take the reins once their stars have retired.
With that in mind, we have taken a look at some of the jockeys to watch in the future, who may emerge and rise to the challenge of emulating the likes of AP.

Toby Wynne
Having graduated from pony racing to point-to-point field, Wynne had his breakthrough in 2024 and will be looking to continue his fine form ove the next couple of years to really establish himself.
The 20-year-old accumulated an impressive 19 winners and is partnered with trainers, Olver Greenall and Josh Guerriero, both of whom boast the right amount of pedigree to help him develop further.
Lilly Pinchin
Having bounced back from a horrific injury that included secveral broken vertebrae, the 24-year-old has really taken the reins on her jump racing career and steered herself to new heights.
Under the stewardship of Charlie Longson, there is no reason why this isn’t possible and, there will be many who will be expecting her to kick on and become a contender to be champion conditional over the next few years.
Female jockeys have really made a name for themselves in recent years, in a sport that is considerably male dominated, with the likes of Nina Carberry, Rachel Blackmore and Bryony Frost all successfully shooting to fame and Pinchin will be hoping to do the same.
Beau Morgan
Hailing from a family that has horse racing running through its venus, 18-year-old Morgan is already a teen sensation in the sport, while his older brother, Luca is already a champion as a the ‘top young rider’.
Both share the significant Cotswolds stable of Ben Pauling and have progressed considerably due to this and Morgan junior will have his eyes on the same title that his brother has. There is no reason at all, why he cannot kick on and have a successful career in the sport. It would come as no surprise to see trainers all chasing after him, though Pauling for now seems a sure bet for his future.
